"Technotex 2023: India's premier show on Technical Textiles to boost industry growth and global trade"

The Ministry of Textiles, in partnership with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce Industry, is organizing the 10th edition of the flagship event Technotex 2023. This premier show on Technical Textiles will take place at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai from 22nd to 24th February 2023. The event aims to promote technical textiles, which are textiles used for specific purposes such as medical, defense, industrial, agriculture, automotive, building, and packaging.

Technotex 2023 will consist of B2B exhibitions, conferences, seminars, CEO forums, reverse buyer seller meets, high-level roundtables, investor discussions, and country and state sessions. Dignitaries from various countries and state governments, including Maharashtra as the host state and Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Madhya Pradesh as partner states, will participate. The event will feature more than 150 technical textiles exhibitors and over 250 buyers from 30+ countries, including Taiwan, Germany, Switzerland, Guinea (South Africa), South Korea, Russia, and Luxembourg.

Industry leaders, CEOs, senior industry representatives, ministries and departments of the central and state governments, user industries, and experts will convene at Technotex 2023 to discuss the future of the Indian technical textiles industry. The event will provide an excellent opportunity to foster international connections and exemplify the vast potential for trade and investment between India and foreign countries in the technical textiles sector.

India's technical textiles market is currently the world's fifth-largest, valued at USD 22.5 billion in 2021-22, with growth averaging 9-10% per year over the past five years. The demand for technical textiles products in various application areas and existing global market dynamics presents a massive opportunity for this sunrise industry in India.

Technotex 2023 aligns with the government's efforts to make India a leading manufacturing hub in technical textiles. The event will focus on strategic areas such as investment potential and opportunities, the startup ecosystem in technical textiles, user perspectives, potential for protected and sustainable agro-produce, domestic capabilities and capacities in Meditech, and standards, quality, regulatory, and trade aspects of technical textiles.

The CEOs' roundtable will provide a platform for business leaders worldwide to share insights, spotlight opportunities, and lay out the future course for the rapidly growing segments of technical textiles. A knowledge report and BIS standards will also be released during the three-day event.

The Hon'ble Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Textiles, Government of India, Shri Piyush Goyal, and the Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Textiles and Railways, Smt Darshana Jardosh, will address the event and share their viewpoints. The Ministry of Textiles hopes that Technotex 2023's focused deliberations, knowledge exchange, and business connections will yield actionable plans that will boost India's technical textile industry.
